Bl Claudio Granzotto
Today we celebrate the feast day of Bl. Claudio Granzotto. Bl. Claudio was born in Santa Lucia del Piave which is near Venice, Bl. Claudio was also the youngest of nine children and he had to work in the fields. When Bl. Claudio was the age of 9, he had lost his father. About six years later, he was drafted into the Italian army, and he had to serve for more than three years.
Bl. Claudio was extremely artistic, and his artistic abilities had led to his studies in Venice’s Academy for Fine Arts, which had awarded him a diploma with the highest marks during the year 1929. Later on in Bl. Claudio’s life he decided to enter the Friars Minor, his parish priest wrote, “The Order is receiving not only an artist but a saint.”
Bl. Claudio lived a life that was filled with intense prayer, charity to the poor, and artistic work however, his life was unfortunately cut short by a brain tumor. Bl. Claudio had died on the feast of the Assumption, during August 15, 1947, and he was later beatified during the year 1994. Bl. Claudio’s feast is celebrated on March 23.

Bl. Claudio intercede that we may be able to live a life of peace, charity and love. Bl. Claudio help us to fix any bad habits that we may have in our lives and help us to grow in our intimacy and love with Christ.
