Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today is the feast day of the Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this feast is counterpart to the feast day of the Holy Name of Jesus; both feast days are truly beautiful.
The feast day of the Most Holy Name of Mary had begun in Spain during the year 1513 and in 1671 it was extended to all of Spain and the Kingdom of Naples. Pope Innocent XI extended this feast to the entire Church. The feast day is celebrated on September 12.
Through deep and intense prayer to Mary, she can truly change our lives. Mary Our Mother in Heaven is always with us and if we entrust ourselves to her, she will help us to get over any difficulties we may be encountering in our lives. During moments of temptation, sadness, anger, fear, darkness and uncertainty, it is important that we call on Mary for guidance, love and protection.
Prayer to Mary:
Mary intercede that we may be able to do the will of your Son and help us to overcome any difficulties that may be stopping us from fulfilling his will. Mary please be with us during moments of sadness, darkness, temptation, anger or uncertainty, during these moments please guide us to the light and help us to be united with you in love.
