St Augustine of Hippo
Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Augustine of Hippo. St. Augustine had became a Christian at the age of 33, he had became priest at the age of 36, and he had became bishop at the age of 41. Many people may have heard about the life that St. Augustine had lived, St. Augustine was a sinner who was able to become a saint.
During St. Augustine’s life, he was able to transform himself due to the tears and prayers from his mother, the instructions from Ambrose and, most of all from the guidance from God himself speaking to him in the Scriptures. Due to this guidance and prayers it had helped St. Augustine to redirect his love of life to a life of love.
St. Augustine is a person that left behind a life of sin and completely made himself an instrument of peace and he was able to do this during his lifetime and he is still able to guide others out of living a life blinded by greed, addiction or difficulty. If we may feel that we are unable to do Christ’s will it is important that we realize that we can never fail Christ, that whenever we sin Christ is waiting for us to allow him into our lives so that he may guide us and help us to grow as a person. Christ is so humble that he is waiting for us to allow Him into our hearts so that he may guide us and change our lives.
St. Augustine is the patron saint of printers, theologians and converts to Christianity. St. Augustine’s feast day is celebrated on August 28.
Prayer to St. Augustine: St. Augustine intercede that we may to deepen our intimacy with Christ so that we may help others to know more about Christ and His love and mercy for everyone. Amen St. Augustine pray for us St. Joseph pray for us
May we continue to strengthen our journey to sainthood and keep others in our prayers.
