St. Peter was born around the year 1390, during a very crazy time period. During St. Peter’s lifetime The Great Western Schism was occurring and it occurred from 1378-1417 until it was finally completed at a Council of Constance during 1414-1418. Also, England and France where fighting a war against each other which was called the Hundred Years’ War. Many other events occurred throughout St. Peter’s lifetime however through every thing that occurred St. Peter remained strong in his devotion to God and Mary.

Ever since a young age St. Peter understood the importance of living a pious life completely devoted to God. St. Peter also understood the importance of serving other people first before himself.
When St. Peter was only 13 years old he felt the calling to join a religious group. Therefore, at the age of 13 years old he decided to enter the Conventual Franciscans.
After he was ordained, he was quickly made the superior of the friary in Aguilar, Spain. St. Peter joined some friars who decided to live a life of great poverty and penance. During the year 1442, St. Peter was made head of the Spanish Franciscans that were in his reform group.
St. Peter was a really good examples for the other friars, due to the way that he treated and cared for other people. St. Peter had a big heart and loved the poor and vulnerable a lot. Their are many miracles that are reported to have occurred through his charity and service to the poor. An example of this is whenever St. Peter had hungry people to feed the supply of bread never ran out. During the majority of St. Peter's life he would live only off of bread and water.
St. Peter is also known for his Severe asceticism and his ability to levitate and enter into complete ecstasies when he would pray. St. Peter was also a very successful Abbot and he devoted his life to providing the needed reforms in monasteries and he devoted his life to promoting reforms in other Franciscan homes.
